Alexandra Burke, birth name Alexandra Imelda Cecelia Ewan Burke was born on August 25, 1988 in Islington, London, the UK. She is an English R&B, pop and soul singer-songwriter. She received her first success as winner of a popular British TV show The X Factor. Being a winner Burke, received a contract with Syco Record label. Burke quickly embarked on her solo career. The debut single ”Hallelujah” has become a real hit – it climbed on the top of the UK Singles chart and has become number one in Ireland. The single was certified 2 x Platinum in the UK. The next hit was Bad Boys (featuring Flo Rida). The single appeared in other charts, like in German, Dutch, Belgian, Swiss, etc. Both singles are included in Burke’s debut album Overcome.
