The Prodigy are an English electronic music band that was formed in 1990, in Braintree, Essex, England and currently comprises Liam Howlett (composer/keyboards), Keith Flint (dancer/vocalist) and Maxim Reality (MC/vocalist). They are well known for high-quality live performances. The band first emerged on the underground rave scene in the early 1990s. In 1997, they released their most commercially successful album, The Fat of the Land, which was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. It also debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. The album spawned several hits such as "Firestarter", "Breathe" and "Smack My Bitch Up". The Song "Smack My Bitch Up" appeared in Scary Movie 2. The album entered the Guinness World Records as the fastest-selling UK album in 1999 and was also nominated for a Grammy Award.
