American alternative and indie rock band As Tall As Lions from Long Island, New York, the United States, was formed in 2001. The founding members were Dan Nigro (vocals, guitar, piano), Saen Fitzgerald (guitar, drums), Brian Fortune (guitar) and Cliff Sarcona (drums). Right now Julio Tavarez plays the guitar. The band began its career with releasing a self-released EP titled Blood and Aphorisms. The EP was recorded without permanent bassist and only in October 2002 the band recruited Brian Caesar. Several months later the band signed a deal with Island Records and with Tripple Crown Records. The next step in career was a debut album Lafcadio which was released in 2004.
