The Black Eyed Peas is an American hip hop and pop band that was formed in 1995. Originally it was formed in the late 1980s by will.i.am and apl.de.ap as the Atban Klann. The band currently comprises will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo and Fergie. The band gained popularity in 2003 with their multi-platinum album, Elephunk, which spawned four hits, "Where is the Love?" (with Justin Timberlake), "Shut Up", "Hey Mama" and "Let's Get It Started". And in 2005, the band released their best-selling album, Monkey Business, which yielded five singles, "Don't Phunk with My Heart", "Don't Lie", "My Humps", "Like That" and "Pump It". The album's first single, "Don't Phunk with My Heart", was a hit in the U.S., reaching number three on the U.S. Hot 100. The band also won the Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for "Don't Phunk with My Heart".
