Mary Isobel Catherine Bernadette O'Brien, better known under her stage name Dusty Springfield was born on April 16, 1939 in West Hampstead and died on March 2, 1999 in Ealing, London, England. She was pop and soul singer and considered to be one of the best white soul singers. She liked American pop and opened soul for the British audience. She started her career at the end of the 50s and reached popularity during the 60s with such hit singles like "I Only Want To Be With You", "I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself", "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me", "Son of a Preacher Man", and many others. In the 1970s and 1980s her popularity went down and it caused deep depression. According to some evidences she was bisexual. She is inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
