The Pharcyde is an American alternative hip hop group coming from Los Angles, California. The group was founded in 1989 by Imani (Emandu Wilcox), Slimkid3 (Tre Hardson), Bootie Brown (Romye Robinson) and Fatlip (Derrick Stewart). The have released four studio albums, one extended play, three compilation albums and several singles. The best-selling and the most successful group’s album is their debut work titled Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde. The album was certified Gold and spawned a hit single number one “Passin’ Me By”. The band broke up leaving only two members Bootie Brown and Imani while others decided to pursue a solo career. The band reunited for Rock the Bells festival in Chicago and performed on July 19, 2008.
