American dance-punk band The Rapture comes from La Mesa, California, the United States. The band was formed in 1998 by keyboardist Chris Relyea, drummer Vito Roccoforte and guitarist/vocalist Luke Jenner. The band changed its line-up and now the band members are Luke Jenner (vocals and guitar), Vito Roccoforte (drums and percussion) and of Gabriel Andruzzi (keyboards, saxophone, percussion and vocals). The band is known to be one of the forerunners of post-punk in the beginning of 2000s. They mixed post-punk with dance, electronic and melodic elements creating a dance-punk. Their music also incorporates indie rock and art punk. The band has released only two full-length albums – Echoes and Pieces of the People We Love.
