English guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer Richard Willis Hawley, known as Richard Hawley was born on January 17, 1967 in Sheffield, England. During his career, he has released six studio albums. He’s very proud of his hometown and of his working class background and all this is reflected in his music. For example, Lowedges is a name of the city’s suburb and it is the name of his third album. The album Cole Corner took its name from the place where courting lovers meet. Lady’s Bridge, his 2007 album, is a landmark place in the center of the city. This album has become the most successful to date. It reached number 6 on the UK Albums Chart. In 2008 Hawley was nominated for the BRIT Award as Best British Male Performer but failed to win.
