Isaac Lee Hayes Jr., better known as Isaac Hayes was born on August 20, 1942 in Covington, Tennessee, U.S. and died on August 10, 2008 in Memphis, Tennessee, U.S. he was an American rhythm and blues singer-songwriter, actor and musician. He rose to fame as a songwriter and for his outstanding contribution to music, he was inducted into the Songwriters hall of Fame. He was also a recording artists and he released 20 studio albums, 3 soundtracks and quite a number of singles. The most popular his album was a soundtrack for the film Shaft. The album reached number one in the United States. The lead single "Theme from Shaft"/"Cafe Regio's" climbed on the top of the American charts as well.
