American singer, songwriter, poet and actor John Nommensen Duchac, better known as John Doe was born on February 25, 1954 in Decatur, Illinois, the United States. He is the founder of the Los Angeles punk band X. Right now, he performs with his backing band The Knitters. He is bass guitarist and guitarist. His sound can be classifies as punk rock, folk rock and alternative country. During his music career he has released eight studio albums, some of them are Meet John Doe, Dim Stars, Bright Sky, Forever Hasn't Happened Yet, A Year in the Wilderness. This album was created in collaboration with Canadian indie rock band The Sadies. Being an actor, he filmed in many movies and in some videos like The Doors’ “L.A.
