American rock band the Smithereens was formed in Carteret, New Jersey, the United States in 1980. The current band’s line-up composes of Pat DiNizio (vocals & guitar), Jim Babjak (guitar & vocals), Severo Jornacion (bass guitar, vocals) and Dennis Diken (drums & percussion). The band consists of all original members with exception for Severo Jornacion who replaced the original bassist Mike Mesaros. The band has released nine studio albums. The debut one Especially for You came out in 1985. It spawned a single “Blood and Roses” which hit the US Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and peaked at number 14. The band is still active and they tour on regular basis.
