An American blues hardcore band Zephyr was formed in 1986 in Boulder, Colorado, US. The original line-up consisted of of Tommy Bolin (guitar), John Faris (keyboards), David Givens (bass), Robbie Chamberlain (drums) and Candy Givens (vocals). Candy’s vocal style reminded the one of Janis Joplin but it wasn’t the central thing about the group. It’s remembered first of all because of the fresh sounding Tommy Bolin’s guitar. The group disbanded in the early 80s due to lack of any general idea for further development. Candy Givens died in 1984 in Jacuzzi after having mixed Quaaludes and alcohol.
