Biography

English rock band Giles, Giles and Fripp was formed in 1967 by brother Peter and Michael Giles. Third member, guitarist Robert Fripp joined them after he responded brother’s advertisement as they were looking for a singing keyboardist. Though Robert was non-singing guitarist he was hired. After the band released its debut album “The Cheerful Insanity of Giles, Giles and Fripp” two other musicians joined them. Judy Dyble was on vocals and Ian McDonald was on saxophone, clarinet and flute. The band recorded at home mostly as their record label Deram Records rejected their next studio sessions. The band split in 1968 after Peter Giles left the band. Judy Dyble wasn’t for a long time with them as well so Michale Giles, Robert Fripp and Ian McDonald formed another band titled King Crimson.
