American country music artist, singer-songwriter and producer Guy Clark was born on November 6, 1941 in Monahans, Texas, the United States. Clark rose to prominence as a songwriter. Many of his songs were recorded by such famous artists like Johnny Cash, Ricky Skaggs, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Rodney Crowell and others. Ricky Skaggs reached number one with Clark’s song "Heartbroke" and established himself as a talented songwriter. In addition to writing songs for others, he has pursued a solo career. His debut album Old No.1 was released in 1975. The album charted on the US Country and peaked at number 41. He has released 22 albums in total. His album Workbench Songs (2006) earned Grammy nomination for "Best Contemporary Folk/Americana Album".
