Ringo Shiina, real name Yumiko Shiina, is a Japanese musician, songwriter and composer. She was born on November 25, 1978 in Urawa, Saitama, Japan. She began her solo career in 1999 with releasing Muzai Moratorium (Innocence Moratorium). In total she issued 9 solo albums, and now she is concentrated on the work in her group Tokyo Jihen which was created in 2004. She released 3 studio albums with them - Kyouiku/Kyoiku/Kyôiku, Adult and Variety. She was touring around Japan and took part in many big events, among them are "RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2008 in EZO" and "Kame no Ongaeshi" in 2009. She is a multi-instrumentalist and plays traditional Japanese instruments as well as international ones like piano, bass guitar, keyboards.
