A Tribe Called Quest is an American jazz rap and alternative hip hop band that was founded in 1985 and currently consists of Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jarobi White. They quickly gained popularity in 1990 with their debut album, People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm, which produced several singles such as "Bonita Applebum", "I Left My Wallet in El Segundo", "Can I Kick It?". In 1993, they released their most commercially successful album, Midnight Marauders, which was certified platinum two times in the US. It also spawned three biggest hits such as "Award Tour", "Electric Relaxation" and "Oh My God". Midnight Marauders peaked at number 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and at number 8 on the Billboard 200 chart.
