156. English indie rock band Bloc Party from London, UK was formed in 1999. The band was founded by Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack who met each other at Reading festival. Since it formation the band had changed many names before they decided to stop at Bloc Party.They were called Superheroes of BMX, The Angel Range, Diet, Union and the name Bloc Party appeared only in 2005. Current band’s line-up consists of Kele Okereke (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Russell Lissack (lead guitar), Gordon Moakes (bass guitar, synths, backing vocals, glockenspiel), and Matt Tong (drums, backing vocals). The debut Silent Alarm was released in 2005. The first single So Here We Are went in the top 5 of the UK charts. Next singles Banquet and Helicopter were also popular. The next album A Weekend in the City was issued in 2008 and spawned three singles The Prayer, I Still Remember and Hunting for Witches.
