Ayaka, birth name Ayaka Iida was born on December 18, 1987 in Moriguchi, Osaka Prefecture, Japan. She is a Japanese pop singer who rose to fame in 2006 releasing her debut single “I Believe”. The single became a real breakthrough to the mainstream success as the song quickly gained popularity. “I Believe” has become the highest selling debut for a Japanese female singer since Utada Hikaru’s First Love in 1999. However, the highest charting Ayaka’s single is her fourth single from the debut album First Message titled Mikazuki. It is the only single number one in her discography. The album First Massage smashed the stores and was certified Diamond by RIAJ with total sales more than 1 100 000. Her second album Sing to the Sky was less popular but popular enough to be certified 2 x Platinum. Album sales were more than 600 000 copies.
