Robin Thicke is an American soul, R&B and disco singer-songwriter, composer, and occasional actor. He was born on March 10, 1977. Before his days as a singer-songwriter, he had written songs for 3T's "Sexual Attention", Brownstone's "Around You" and collaborated with Jordan Knight, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis on several songs in Knight's 1999 album Jordan Knight. As an artist, he recorded and performed solely under his surname, Thicke. He would continue to do so until 2005. In 2004, he won his first Grammy Award for his contributions on Usher's 2004 release, Confessions. He achieved worldwide success in 2006 with his commercially-successful album, The Evolution of Robin Thicke, which produced the hit singles, "Got 2 Be Down" (featuring Faith Evans), "Lost Without U", "Wanna Love U Girl" (featuring Pharrell), "Can U Believe" and "Shooter" (featuring Lil Wayne). The album also peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
