MF Doom, birth name Daniel Dumile is an American hip-hop artist born on January 9, 1971 in London, Great Britain. He is of Trinidadian and Zimbabwean origin. When he was a child his family moved to New York and he was raised there. At the beginning of his music career he formed band KMD together with his younger brother DJ Subroc and another MC Onyx and Birthstone Kid. The band could sign a deal with Elektra Records but it was dropped after the Dumile’s brother had been killed. After this sad even Dumile gave up hip hop and came back only in 1998. He began performing incognito wearing a mask and since then he has been always performing like that. Beginning in 2001 he began releasing instrumental series titled Special Herbs under the moniker Metal Fingers. His most commercial success album is Madvillainy.
