English power metal band from London DragonForce was formed in 1999. Despide the fact the band comes from the UK, it consists of members who reperesent six different countries. Herman Li (guitar, China), Sam Totman (guitar, New Zealand), ZP Threat (vocals, South Africa), Vadim Pruzhanov (keyboards, Ukraine), Dave Mackintosh (drums, the UK), Frédéric Leclercq (bass, France). The band is known for their long high speed guitar and keayboard solos, that’s why some critics describe them as speed metal though many prefer to refer them as “extreme power-metal”. The band’s last album Ultra Beatdown released in 2008 spawned a hit single Heroes of Our Time which was nominated for Grammy Awards as Best Metal Performance.
