Canadian indie band Hot Hot Heat comes from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada and was formed in 1999. The band’s current lineup composes of Steve Bays (vocals and keyboards), Paul Hawley (drums), Parker Bossley (bass) and of Luke Paquin (guitar). The band began as a hardcore act but their sound was changing and they ended with so called dance punk. They began their career from extensive touring with other bands like Les Savy Fav, The French Kicks, Radio 4, Ima Robot. They were noticed by the record label Sub Pop and were signed quite quickly. 2002 saw their EP Knock Knock Knock partly produced by Chris Walla of Death Cab for Cutie. This followed by the debut full-length release Make Up the Breakdown. The album got the critical acclaim and some songs got a regular airplay on MTV and radio.
