Yyrkoon is a French death metal and thrash metal band that was founded in 1995 by Stéphane Souteyrand (guitar & keyboards), Laurent Harrouart (drums), Paul Banas (vocals & guitar), and Sébastien Caron (bass guitar). The band's current line-up consists of Stéphane Souteyrand (guitar, vocals) and Laurent Harrouart (drums). In 1996, they recorded their first demo, Oath, Obscure, Occult…, which later brought the band a contract with Velvet Music International record label. They came to prominence with their album, Dying Sun, which spawned the band's first singles such as "Idols Are Burning", "Crystal Light", "Flight of the Titan", "The Clans" and "Thrash-em All".
