Rick Ross (birth name William Leonard Roberts II) is an American rapper, who has founded his own record label Maybach Music Group. He was born on January 28, 1976 in Coahoma County, Mississippi and raised in Carol City, Florida, of Miami. His debut album, Port of Miami, was released in 2006, and it debuted at the top spot on the Billboard 200 album chart. In 2006, the album received Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. In 2008, he released his second album, Trilla, which debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. The album produced three singles, "Speedin'" (featuring R. Kelly), "The Boss" (featuring T-Pain) and "Here I Am" (featuring Avery Storm & Nelly).
