English soul, jazz and R&B singer-songwriter Corinne Jacqueline Bailey, better known as Corinne Bailey Rae was born on February 26, 1979 in Leeds, England, the UK. She has been interested in music since her childhood and began her career from learning how to play classical violin. Later she performed in a teenage indie all-female band Helen and reached some local popularity. Rae embarked on her successful solo career in 2006 releasing her debut self-titled album. The album charted in many countries and earned Rae real international success. The album was number 1 in the UK and number 4 in the U.S. Eventually, it was certified 3 x Platinum and Platinum respectively. The album was supported by such hit singles like "Put Your Records On", "Trouble Sleeping" and "Like a Star". The second studio album The Sea was released in 2010.
