American hip-hop duo UGK (Underground Kingz) was formed in Port Arthur, Texas, the United States in 1987. The duo composed of Chad Butler, known as his stage name Pimp C and of Bernard Freeman, known as Bun B. Both were longtime partners and worked together till December 2007 when Pimp C died in his hotel room in West Hollywood. The duo released their debut album in 1992. The album Too Hard To Swallow wasn’t very popular and reached only number 37 on the R&B/Hip-hop album chart. The most commercially successful album Underground Kingz was released in August 2007. The album climbed on the top of the Billboard 200 and on the R&B/Hip-hop albums chart. The song "International Player's Anthem (I Choose You)" (featuring OutKast) featuring the album was nominated for Grammy.
