American hip hop underground group People Under The Stairs (P.U.T.S.) comes from Los Angeles, California, the United States in 1997. The group members are two MCs and DJs – Thes One, birth name Chris Portugal, born in Lima, Peru and Double K, birth name Michael Turner Jr., born in Los Angeles, California. The two met each other at a record shop in Los Angeles, after hearing a lot about each other from their friends in hip hop community. The duo released their debut album The Next Step in 1998. They recorded their debut effort themselves without any contract and released the album at their gigs and simply on the street. In total, the duo has released seven studio albums. The last one is Carried Away (2009).
