Anna Maria Mazzini better known under her stage name Mina is an Italian pop singer born on March 25, 1940 in Busto Arsizio, Italy. She debuted as a singer in 1950 and became popular after her concert in the club La Bussola, a cult place where Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald gave their concerts. She quickly gained popularity and sang onTV for the first time in 1959. Later she continued appearing on TV shows, took part in prestigious Italian music festival San Remo. She was also an actress and filmed in 11 movies from 1960 till 1967. Many of her songs featured 20 films, like Matador by Pedro Almodovar and Goodfellas by Martin Scorcese. Mina hasn’t been performing live since 1978. However she continued releasing studio albums. Right now she lives in Switzerland.
