Lamb of God is an American heavy metal and metalcore band that was formed in 1990 and currently comprises vocalist Randy Blythe, guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler, bassist John Campbell, and drummer Chris Adler and is a member of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal. Originally known under the moniker "Burn the Priest", the band was founded by Chris Adler, John Campbell and Mark Morton. In 2004, they released breakthrough album, Ashes of the Wake, peaked at number 27 on the Billboard 200. After they reached the success with Ashes of the Wake the band is often associated with such terms as the "leaders" of the "New Wave of American Heavy Metal". In 2009, the band released its best selling album, Wrath, which yielded two singles, "Contractor" and "Set to Fail". It also debuted on the Billboard 200 at number two.
