Dane Cook (birth name Dane Jeffrey Cook) is an American stand-up comedian and film actor. He was born on March 18, 1972, in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. His big comedy break came in 1998 when he appeared on Comedy Central's Premium Blend. This started a relationship between Cook and Comedy Central that has lasted for many years. The success of his first album, Harmful If Swallowed (2003), landed him a recording contract with Comedy Central Records. Cook's follow-up album, Retaliation, was released in 2005. The DVD contains his appearances on Shorties Watchin' Shorties and Crank Yankers, Comedy Central's Denis Leary Roast and Comedy Central's Bar Mitzvah Bash.
