He is an American singer-songwriter performing in such genres like pop, soft rock and yacht rock. His debut album Christopher Cross was released in 1980 and blasted the music industry at once. The album earned Cross 5 Grammy Awards in such nominations like Record of the Year - "Sailing", Song of the Year - "Sailing", Album of the Year - Christopher Cross, Best New Artist - Christopher Cross and Best Arrangement - "Sailing".
