Charlyn Marie Marshall known as Cat Power is an American indie, folk, rock singer-songwriter who was born on January 21, 1972 in Atlanta, Georgia, the U.S. She is the dauther of keyboardist Charlie Marshall who travelled a lot around the country and Cat Powere moved a lot too. As she said that had prepared her to their touring life. She’s known for breathy vocals, unpolished stage performances and alcohol abuse. Though she called herself as sober which she defined as "seven drinks in seven months." Her recent performances became more professional and enthusiastic. The breakthrough to the mainstream success happened in 2007 with the release of her album The Greatest which became the album of the year.
