American acoustic bluegrass trio Nickel Creek was formed in San Diego Country, California, the United States in 1989 and disbanded in 2007. The band’s lineup didn’t change since the formation and the band members were Chris Thile (mandolin), Sara Watkins (fiddle) and Sean Watkins (guitar). Though the band is always labeled as a bluegrass trio the musicians told in the interviews that they "incorporate bluegrass into [its] music" but they are not bluegrass. During early career they release two albums Little Cowpoke (1993) and Here to There (1997). But the albums weren’t noticed by the public at all. They rose to fame with their third album Nickel Creek which received two Grammy nominations as Best Bluegrass Album and Best Country Instrumental for "Ode to a Butterfly". They toured a lot supporting their album and were both headliners and opening act. You can download the breakthrough album by Nickel Creek in mp3 from our site.
