English alternative rock band Kaiser Chiefs was formed in Leeds, England in 1996. The band’s line-up composes of Ricky Wilson – lead vocals, percussion, Andrew 'Whitey' White – guitar, live backing vocals, Simon Rix – bass, live backing vocals, Nick 'Peanut' Baines – keyboards, percussion, Nick Hodgson – drums, backing vocals, occasion lead vocals. The band’s most commercially successful album is their debut work Employment. It was certified 5 x Platinum on the UK, 2 times Platinum in the EU and became Gold in Australia. The band was inspired by Mew Wave and Britpop as well as by punk rock. The album received favorable reviews from many media including Allmusic, Blender, Rolling Stone and others. The band earned their hit single number one with their second album. The album Yours Truly, Angry Mob spawned a single “Ruby” which became number one in the UK.
