Brown’s first instrument was piano and he learnt how to play from his father who taught him at a very young age. Later, he learnt guitar, pedal steel and developed his music skills playing in some bands, like Last Mile Ramblers, Dusty Drapes and the Dusters and Asleep. Brown is known for creating his own guitar, called “guit-steel”. This instrument combines a usual 6 string guitar with lap steel.
