Biography

Sister With Voices, better known as SWV are an American R&B/pop trio formed in New York City, New York, the United States in 1990. The band composes of Cheryl "Coko" Clemons, Tamara "Taj" Johnson-George and of Leanne "Lelee" Lyons. The band was formed as a gospel group and they rose to fame in 1990s with number of their hits. Some of them are “Weak”, Right Here/Human Nature", "Downtown", "You're the One", “I’m So Into You”, "Use Your Heart" and some others. The most commercially successful is their debut album It’s About Time which was certified 3 x Platinum in the US while the worldwide sales reached 6 million copies. The album peaked at number 8 on the Billboard 200 and charted also in the UK and in Germany. The band broke up in 1998 as group members wanted to begin solo careers, but they reunited in 2005.
