Steve Perry, birth name Stephen Ray Pereira, was born on January 22, 1949 in Hanford, California, the United States. He’s an American rock singer and songwriter having made a successful music career in solo work and working in the band Journey where he was a lead vocalist. He’s considered to be one of the greatest rock singers of all times, being named 76th in the list of 100 Greatest Singers of All Time by the Rolling Stone magazine. Brian May of Queen said about him that “Perry is a truly luminous singer, in my opinion — a voice in a million". Perry is cited as a major influence by many famous artists like Rob Thomas, Jon Bon Jovi, Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys. During his solo career Perry has released two albums – Street Talk and For the Love of Strange Medicine. They were certified 2 x Platinum and Gold respectively.
