Australian alternative rock band Silverchair from Newcastle, New South Wales was formed in 1992. The band’s line-up composes of Daniel Johns (vocals, guitar), Chris Joannou (bass guitar) and Ben Gilles (drums). The band rose to fame with their debut hit singles “Tomorrow”. The song peaked at number one on Australian, New Zealand, Hot Mainstream Rock and Hot Modern Rock tracks charts. However, it did quite poor in the UK being only at number 59. The singles was certified 2 x Platinum in Australia and in New Zealand. This single has become the best-selling one in the band’s discography. Other main band’s songs include such tracks as “Freak”, “Anthem for the year 2000” and “Straight Lines”. The band has released five studio albums.
