Rick Springfield is an Australian-American power pop and pop rock singer-songwriter, musician and actor. He was born on 23 August 1949 in Sydney, Australia. He achieved mainstream success as a solo singer in the early 1980s with his multi-platinum album, Working Class Dog, which yielded his first number one hit "Jessie's Girl". In 1982, he won a Grammy for "Best Male Rock Vocal Performance" for "Jessie's Girl". He continued his success with the following album, Success Hasn't Spoiled Me Yet, which yielded several hit singles such as, "Don't Talk to Strangers" (number 2), "What Kind Of Fool Am I" (number 21), "I Get Excited" (number 32), "Don't Talk To Strangers" (number 11) and "Calling All Girls" (number 4). This album also received platinum certification.
