Rascal Flatts is an American country music band that was formed in 1999 by by Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney. They took the name Rascal Flatts from a famous landmark in Oklahoma and began performing together, getting signed to Lyric Street Records in late 1999. Their highest-certified album, Feels Like Today, was released in 2004. The album included their biggest number-one hit, "Bless the Broken Road", which also earned the songwriters a Grammy Award for Best Country Song. Other hit singles from the album were "Feels Like Today", "Fast Cars and Freedom" and "Skin (Sarabeth)". The third single, "Fast Cars and Freedom", was the group's fourth number-one single on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.
