KT Tunstall, birth name Kate Victoria Tunstall is a Scottish singer-songwriter and guitarist coming from St. Andrews, Scotland. She was born on June 23, 1975 and became famous in 2004 releasing her debut album Eye to Telescope. The album spawned a hit single which propelled Tunstall to the stardom. It was Black Horse and the Cherry Tree. The song was nominated for Grammy Awards as Best Female Pop Vocal Performance but lost to Christina Aguilera’s “Ain’t No Other Man”. She got many other nominations, like three BRIT Awards, European Border Breaker Award, Ivor Novello Award. She has also released an acoustic album Acoustic Extravaganza, and her third studio work Drastic Fantastic which charted pretty well, reaching # 1 on Scottish Album charts, # 3 on UK charts and # 9 on the U.S. charts.
