American dance and house music act iiO was formed in New York City, New York, the United States in 2001. The act was founded by two musicians – Nadia Ali (vocals, songwriting) and Markus Moser (producer, songwriter). Ali and Moser parted ways in 2005 as Ali decided to pursue solo career. Right now, the music project composes only of Moser. iiO chose their name after Sony Vaio laptop. The duo created their music on it at the beginning. The word “Vaio” was changed as the duo didn’t want any legal troubles. They have released only one studio album. Poetic was released in 2005 through Made Records. It features such hits as “Rapture” and “Is It Love?” “Is It Love?” reached number one on the U.S. Dance. “Rapture” didn’t reach number one but received more international promotion and was number 2 in the UK.
