American hip-hop band was formed in New York City, New York, the United States in 2002. The founder members of the group are fellow rappers 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo who grew up together and know each other since their childhood. They sold drugs together, had problems with law. G-Unit stands for Guerilla Unit and for Gangsta Unit as well. When 50 Cent was signed by a label other his fellow rappers worked hard to make mixtapes in order to gain attention as well. But 50 Cent was dropped out of the label, was shot and after that the three fellows began working together. They released two studio albums Beg for Mercy and T.O.S. Terminate on Sight.
