Welsh band Funeral for a Friend was formed in 2001 in Bridgend, Wales, the UK. The band’s members are Kris Coombs-Roberts (guitar, backing vocals), Gavin Burrough (bass, backing vocals), Ryan Richards (drums, unclean backing vocals), Darran Smith (guitar) and of Matthew Davies-Kreye (lead vocals). The band’s music can be classified as post-hardcore, screamo and emo. The band released their debut album Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation in 2003. They extensively toured in order to promote their record and opened for their idols, Iron Maiden, despite the big difference in their own music. The band also headlined the second stage at the Reading and Leeds Festival. The album reached number 12 on the UK albums chart and was certified Gold.
