English post-punk and alternative rock band The Fall was founded in Prestwich, Greater Manchester, the United Kingdom. The band’s only permanent member is Mark E. Smith and the whole band is built around him. All other members are “come and go” musicians. The band is very prolific and their discography is rich having numerous studio, live and compilation albums and singles. The band has not reached the mainstream success and their songs have never topped any charts, however they are very influential and many bands cite them as one of the influences. Sonic Youth is known to cover their songs and some other musicians Jens Lekman, Belle and Sebastian and Seedling mention the Fall in their songs. The last Fall’s album is Your Future Our Clutter.
