Biography

Tantric is an American post-grunge and hard rock band that was formed in 1999 by three former members of Days of the New, Jesse Vest, Todd Whitener, and Matt Taul, with the addition of Merge singer, Hugo Ferreira. The band currently consists of Hugo Ferreira, Richie Monica, Joe Pessia, Erik Leonhardt and Marcus Ratzenboeck. The band began under the name C-14 (short name for radiocarbon). Later they changed the name. In 1999, they were signed to Maverick Records. In 2004, they released their second album, After We Go, which spawned several hit singles such as "Hey Now", "Hero", "The Chain", "Change The World" and "Just Once". In 2004, the band also toured with 3 Doors Down and Shinedown. In 2008, they released their next album, The End Begins, which debuted at number 91 on the Billboard 200. This album also produced two singles, "Down and Out" and "Fall Down".
