Static-X is an American industrial metal and nu metal band that was formed in 1994 and currently consists of Wayne Static (lead vocals, guitars, keyboards, programming), Koichi Fukuda (lead guitars), Tony Campos (bass, backing vocals) and Nick Oshiro (drums, percussion). Their sound incorporates elements of industrial music and heavy metal in a sub-genre called industrial metal. The band quickly gained popularity with their debut album, Wisconsin Death Trip (1999), which went platinum in 2001. It became the band's best-selling album.
