Rock: Hard-Rock (469) Rock (7993)
American heavy metal band Skid Row was formed in Toms River, New Jersey, the United States, in 1986. The idea of creating the band came to Rachel Bolan and Dave Sabo. Dave was friend of John Bon Jovi and the latter helped them to record their debut album and helped to get Sebastian Bach, their future vocalist. The debut album Skid Row was released in 1989 and peaked at number 6 on the Billboard chart. Thanks to such hits as “18 and Life” and “I Remember You”, the album was certified Platinum very quickly and went on 5 x Multi-Platinum. The song “Youth Gone Wild” became a hymn of American youth during that time. Their next album Slave to the Grind didn’t have so many “radio hits” and was heavier than the previous one. Despite this fact it reached the top of the Billboard and went Platinum. The current band’s line up composes of Johnny Solinger (vocals), Dave "The Snake" Sabo (guitar), Scotti Hill (guitar), Rachel Bolan (bass) and Dave Gara (drums).
