Pulp were an English alternative rock and and britpop band that was formed in 1978 by Jarvis Cocker (vocals, guitar). The group consisted of Jarvis Cocker, Candida Doyle, Mark Webber, Steve Mackey and Nick Banks. The members of the band were all schoolmates attending City Secondary School in Sheffield. In October 1995, Pulp released their most successful album, Different Class, which you may download in mp3 from our site. It produced three hit singles, "Common People" (which reached number two in the UK singles chart), "Something Changed" (which peaked number ten) and "Disco 2000" (which reached number seven). The album garnered significant critical praise and debuted at number one spot in the UK Album Chart. In 1996, Different Class won the Mercury Music Prize. In 1998, the band released their next album, This Is Hardcore, which you also may download in mp3 from our site. The album was well received critically, and earned Pulp a third successive nomination for the 1998 Mercury Prize.
