One of the most successful American solo singers Neil Diamond (full name Neil Leslie Diamond) was born on January 24, 1941 in New York City in the family of Jewish immigrants from Poland and Russia. He’s the most popular artist only after Elton John and Barbara Streisand. When he was young he used to sing in a church choir with Streisand.
